Privacy policy
Summary: we collect very little. We do not run accounts, forms or newsletters on this website. We use Google Analytics and show live TradingView charts, but only if you click “Accept all”. We do not use advertising cookies.
Who we are. This website, thegolddesk.com, is run by Amoship Ltd, trading as “The Gold Desk” (company number: 14666271). Our contact address is 1 Allied Business Centre, Coldharbour Lane, Harpenden, England, AL5 4UT. Email: info@thegolddesk.com. In this policy “we”, “us” and “our” mean Amoship Ltd.
What data we handle
- Technical data when you visit. Our hosting provider, Vercel Inc., processes standard server logs for security and delivery (for example your IP address, browser type, the page requested and time). We do not use these logs to identify you personally.
- Choices saved in your browser. Your light/dark setting, your cookie choice and your Academy lesson progress are saved only in your own browser (local storage). They are not sent to us.
- Calculators and quizzes. Anything you type into them is processed in your browser and is not sent to us or stored.
- Messages you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address and what you write. We use it only to reply and to keep a record of the conversation.
- Website analytics (only if you accept). If you choose “Accept all”, we load Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd / Google LLC). It records which pages are visited, roughly where in the world visitors are, the type of device and browser, and how you arrived, using cookies and a randomly generated identifier. We turn on IP anonymisation and switch off Google’s advertising features and personalised ads signals. We use the results only to understand which pages are useful. If you choose “Essential only”, Google Analytics does not load.
- Third-party content. If you accept it, TradingView loads live charts. TradingView is a separate controller of any data it collects. See our cookie policy.

Links to other services
We link to services we do not control. When you leave our site, their own privacy policies apply:
- Telegram, where our free channel is hosted. We do not receive your Telegram data beyond what Telegram shows channel administrators (such as subscriber counts).
- Our partner broker (TradeQuo). Our links may carry a referral code so the broker can tell the sign-up came from us and pay us a commission. The broker, not us, collects the details you give when you open an account, and handles them under its own privacy policy. We may receive information from the broker to confirm referrals and commission. We do not ask you for your identity documents, bank or trading account details.
- TradingView, for charts and the offer described in our affiliate disclosure.
- X (formerly Twitter), where we post.
Sharing and international transfers
We do not sell personal data. We use service providers (such as our hosting provider, Vercel, and our email provider) who process data on our behalf. Some of them are based in, or process data in, the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on approved safeguards such as the UK’s international data transfer arrangements or an adequacy decision, where applicable.
How long we keep data
Server logs are kept by our hosting provider for a short period under its own schedule. Emails are kept for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards (normally no more than two years) unless the law requires longer. Browser storage stays on your device until you clear it.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you may have the right to access your personal data, have it corrected or erased, restrict or object to certain uses, and withdraw consent at any time (for example through Cookie settings). To exercise a right, email us at info@thegolddesk.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, though we would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Children
This website is for adults aged 18 or over. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes
If we change how we use data, we will update this policy, change the date above and ask for your consent where required.
